Perspex® Centrepiece Created for KPMG UK Headquarters
Featured product: Perspex Colours®
Perspex Fabricators Inplas fabrication have recently created a dramatic sculpture made of transparent Perspex® acrylic for the new reception area at KPMG’s UK headquarters in Watford.
Working closely with artist Claire Knapp, the design answered the brief to create a sculpture which would add dramatic colour and movement to the space.
“We love working with artists who are looking to bring their concepts to life” explains Inplas Managing Director Trevor Smith, “The fabrication properties of Perspex® acrylic enable us to create fascinating sculptured shapes. For this contemporary design, we laser cut transparent Perspex® acrylic into spirals before individually stretching and thermoforming them and finally intertwining the spirals to create the sculpture.”
Using just 3 transparent colours - red 4401, blue 7703 and yellow 2202 – each spiral was also laser etched with the KPMG mottos ‘Global mindset’, ‘Value adding’, ‘Passionate’ and ‘Forward thinking’ and the spirals float on a system of custom designed clear acrylic pedestals.
