Benefits of PERSPEX® Acrylic Sheet

Clarity

PERSPEX® Clear cast acrylic sheet has a higher light transmission than glass, offering stunning visual transparency. Additionally, Perspex® Acrylic can be repolished to regain clarity overtime.

Versatility

Acrylic sheet is extremely versatile and can be used for a wide range of applications. If you need help moulding or fabricating your Perspex® cast acrylic sheets, find a fabricator here.

Weather Resistant

Perspex® cast acrylic sheets have an excellent resistance to UV rays and most ranges of PERSPEX® acrylic materials have a 10 year external warranty, meaning the material will not discolour or degrade over time.

Lightweight

A 2mm thick cast acrylic sheet weighs 2.4kg per m2, whereas a 2mm thick sheet of glass weighs 5kg per m2. However, glass of the same thickness as acrylic doesn’t have the same strength so to achieve the same strength, glass would be a much heavier alternative.

Recyclable

PERSPEX® cast acrylic sheet can be recycled all the way back to its raw monomer.

Acrylic Sheet Cut To Size

We offer a PERSPEX® acrylic cut to size service to match your specific requirements. Let us know your dimensions, thickness, edge radius, whether you’d like the edges polished and if you require drilled holes and we’ll do the rest.

The maximum acrylic sheet size we offer is 3050mm x 2030mm. See our material range tabs for details  of standard sheet thicknesses in each range.

PERSPEX® Cast Acrylic Plastic Uses

PERSPEX® cast acrylic sheet has a high level of strength, exceptional clarity and is easy to work with, this makes it ideal for a range of applications and uses, including:

- Display cases and units
- Shelving
- Glazing
- Illuminated panels
- Kitchen splashbacks
- Shower panels
- Signage
- Retail displays

Plus many more!

Cast Acrylic vs. Polycarbonate

We stock both PERSPEX® cast acrylic sheets and polycarbonate sheets. When it comes to choosing between acrylic or polycarbonate it’s simply a matter of assessing the material properties against the application.

For example, polycarbonate has a much higher impact resistance than acrylic sheet, with polycarbonate 250x stronger than glass and acrylic about 17x stronger than glass. Making polycarbonate a go to solution for safety glazing, machine guards and street furniture where a high impact resistance is required..

PERSPEX® cast acrylic is clearer than polycarbonate and clearer than glass and clear acrylic has a longer external warranty than polycarbonate. Therefore Perspex® acrylic is ideal for long term exterior projects.

PERSPEX® cast acrylic sheet is manufactured in a wider range of colours, so when a colour specific material is required, acrylic would be the material of choice.
