HLN Supplies specialist fabrication skills were required throughout a recent commission from the talented team at Unconventional Design. Unique designs required blow moulding fabrication on clear and coloured Perspex® acrylic to helped create an imaginative children’s play area at Hive at Stockeld Park, North Yorkshire.
The design required some elaborate moulded Perspex® acrylic shapes for the children’s wonderland including creating a submarine, viewing domes and even a gorilla's mouth!
Each element of the play area was meticulously crafted to engage and excite children of all ages.
HLN used a variety of substrates and fabrication technique to produce these bespoke components.
Impact resistant clear Palsun Polycarbonate was used to produce unbreakable windows throughout the structure. CNC cut coloured Perspex® cast acrylic helped form parts for the large gorilla mouth. Perspex® acrylic was used in both clear and yellow 2251 to be blow moulded into dome shapes for the viewing domes and submarine parts.
Furthermore, 20mm thick Perspex® clear cast acrylic was used to create a clear slide, giving the children the unique sensation of gliding through the air
