EMERGENCE is the stunning light installation from This is Loop that has been wowing visitors at the recent Winter Lights event in Canary Wharf, London.
The immersive light sculpture cleverly uses our Alupanel Gold and Silver Mirror aluminium composite to create a completely reflective surface. Addressable LEDs were then added to the inside of the structure, cleverly constructed to create an optical illusion inside the unit creating a complete sphere of light when viewed from close by, but then a giant grid of light when viewed from a short distance.
Alupanel Aluminium Composite was chosen not just for its aesthetic qualities but as the only ACP manufactured in the UK by Multipanel UK, Ltd. Availability of local stock supported the need for the huge quantities of ACP required quickly to build Emergence on time.
The stimulation on the senses was complete with the addition of a soundtrack to Emergence created by collaboration with NYX: Electronic Drone Choir who interpreted This is Loop’s brief to produce a mesmerising auditory soundtrack to the experience.
