Tutankhamun artifacts displayed in PERSPEX® acrylic cases from Inplas

Fabrication

Inplas Fabrications produced all the Perspex® display cases for the ‘Discovering Tutankhamun’ exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford.

A wide range of bespoke table-top and wall-mounted display cases were created in 6, 8 and 10mm clear Perspex® to suit each of the artefacts, along with a series of laser-cut curved countertops for corner displays.

Clear Perspex® was chosen due to its impressive viewing clarity and its superior light transmission to glass.

Discovering Tutankhamun reflects the excitement of the discovery of the tomb by archaeologists Howard Carter and Lord Carnarvon.  Including loans from the Metropolitan in New York, the British Museum and other collections, its previously unseen treasures are Carter's own original notes, drawings, magnificent glass plate photographs, and illustrations he commissioned of some of the most beautiful objects as they were found.

The display cases were manufactured with delicate craftsmanship and perfect joints. The museum informed Inplas that the display cases were the best quality that the museum had ever seen.
